About Ferah
Our Mission (But Make It Ferah)
We’re here to make your bathroom (and your life) a little more fabulous—by wrapping you in the rich, textured story of Turkey’s textile legacy. Think old-school craftsmanship with a modern makeover. Soft, stylish, and just a little smug about it.
Why Ferah? Because Basic Towels Deserve Better.
Premium Quality: Woven by legends. Seriously. We partner with top-tier Turkish mills and artisans who know their stuff—like, “generations of towel whispering” level.
A Personal Connection: Born Turkish, raised on warm welcomes and stronger coffee. Hospitality is in our thread count.
Sustainability & Ethics: We keep it fair, local, and kind. No shady shortcuts—just honest artistry and towels you can feel good about.
What’s in a Name?
“Ferah” means “fresh” and “spacious” in Turkish, which is exactly how our towels—and your post-shower self—should feel. It’s not just a name. It’s a vibe.
FOUNDING TEAM

Gamze Hynes
FOUNDER AND OPERATIONS
I am Gamze, the founder here at Ferah. I was born and raised in Turkey. I spent my early and college years in Istanbul and still very much cherish Turkish culture. When I raised the idea of Ferah to friends and family the name had not been decided on yet. We wanted to encapsulate the feeling of using an authentic, quality Turkish towel. It was my mother who proposed the name ferah which means refreshing and coziness. We hope that would be the feeling after people use our product.
My story began with Ferah in 2024 when I traveled to Turkey back in February and packed two luggages full with towels and blankets and brought them the US. This began a dream to share Turkish Textiles with the world. The distance between Turkey and my home here is far, but working with Ferah has allowed me to bring a piece of home here.
I always thought if you believe in something the whole universe helps you to move forward. Ferah has truly been a family effort, with family and friends helping in all along way.
Thank you for being big part of it this journey of ours!

My name is Jared, and I am Gamze’s husband. I have spent most of my life in Massachusetts having grown up and attended college in Boston. Gamze and I now live in Boston with our cat Leo.
Having spent some time in Turkey with Gamze, I have fell in love with the country and the culture. Whether it’s tea after dinner or casual conversations with cab drivers, Turkish culture is very warm and welcoming.
Ferah is an extension of this warmth and welcoming culture.

Growing up in the shadow of the Canadian Rockies, I’ve always been all about fresh air, adventure, and a sunny day well spent. With a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill and an MBA from Yale, I thrive on bringing creative ideas to life—especially when they involve stylish products and an amazing team. When a close friend suggested starting a Turkish Towel company, I didn’t think twice. Gorgeous towels? Absolutely. Fun people? Even better. It was the perfect passion project! While Turkey is still on my bucket list, I’m already hooked on the vibrant designs and artisan craftsmanship these towels represent.

In August 2022, I took my first trip to Turkey to celebrate the wedding of none other than Gamze and Jared Hynes. The wedding was wonderful, the food exquisite, and the traditions timeless. I promised both Gamze and Jared that I would visit again and I certainly wanted to bring some of my experience back to the US.
When Gamze mentioned that she had started importing Turkish towels and wanted to make it into a sustainable business, I knew I had to take part. And thus Ferah was born.
